Bespoke Furniture & Desks
We recognise that sometimes the best solution for your broadcast furniture is not always available off the shelf, or that you have a particular design in mind for an awkward space - with this in mind, we can design and build desks and furniture to your specification.
All furniture will be designed to your specification and a choice of materials is available for you to decide. All furniture is built in our in house carpentry department in Leeds
The unique design of our modular desks are fully versatile in a way that helps you manage your production. You can use them in any systems area.
The design is built to take the punishment of the every day work of a studio and is robust to cope with the operational kit and all the systems equipment …But, we still have managed to keep a well balance of space and comfort for operators and kit.
The Triple Unit Desk (Picture 3)
The desk comes as a single unit which is made as three standard rack bays wide. The size of the desks can be increased by adding a second modular unit desk (as seen in the picture 3 below two modular desk’s together) or a third or fourth etc to suit your requirement.
The other benefit to the single triple desk is that you can attach wings to either side of the unit to give more script area. This wing is not designed to take any additional rack pods but only for extra work top space.
That makes your 3 bay desk into a very comfortable edit desk.
The benefit of this is, if you need less rack positions but more desk room, this is a very simple solution. as the picture below shows.
The wings could also be placed between any two triple unit desks to give operators more space or better fit in a room.
The Rack Pods (Picture 4)
We have made six variations of the rack system to kit and design.
The pods are all the same width as the desks and lock easily onto the desk by means of guides.
These pods can be swapped and changed from one desk to another to suit the studio’s needs.
They are built of the same material and design as the triple unit desk and fit perfectly together.
They are sold separately to give you a wider range of rack U’s.
The desks come with a single cut out that is 10 RU by the standard 487mm rack width.
This gives a range of advantages to an operator. e.g. RCP controllers, Mixers or just talkback panels.
Alternatively, we could supply a matching laminated blanking panel that would fix to the rack strip and cover the aperture .
We do offer a service of pre cutting any additional holes in the desks, but at the time of ordering, we would require exact measurements of the proposed aperture and also final positioning on the desk in writing.
The desk is made up as a hollow basket with an internal frame making it very strong and able to hide any sunken kit or cabling.
We have a wide range of finishes to chose from, but our standard desk is finished in:
Egger Raja Black Laminate and all edging finished in European Solid Oak.
As this is a low cost production desk we use these colours for our standard desk but if you are looking for a more personal colour, you can choose from our sample list. Please note that this may have a bearing on cost and delivery time as these will be special builds.

The Legs
Each desk comes with two fully adjustable legs that are held together with a rear assembly frame that is available as a flat pack and assembled by using only 4 bolts.
Modesty Panel (Picture 5)
The modesty panel is held in place by two quick release catches , giving simple access to any wiring looms feeding the desk or pod.
