C2S Completes 'Rack n Roll' OB unit

C2S Systems has completed integration for a new twelve-camera HD outside broadcast (OB) system for SuperSport in Kenya which went into operation on 17th of June for coverage of Cricket in Zimbabwe.
Based in Kenya, the OB unit will be used to cover sports and events all over Africa, in particular, football. SuperSport’s brief for the system was to create a hybrid of OB truck and flyaway, with the flyaway able to be de-rigged from the vehicle for stand-alone use in remote locations, a concept the broadcaster had used in some older SD trucks.
The system was a challenging design for C2S Systems.
"We had to redesign the concept to modernise the system in order to advance and future-proof the new unit with enhanced power and functionality. The concept is intended to provide the best of both worlds for SuperSport: The comfort of an OB vehicle with the convenience of a flyaway”, said Jonathan Lyth, head of Projects at C2S Systems. “We’ve concentrated on streamlining the operability of the unit while giving power and versatility.”
