Video - The facility is fully HD and processing is done by Evertz modular cards and an Evertz Xenon 96x64 HD router. Embedded audio is used extensively post-mixer including capture, transmission and editing. 5 uncompressed HD fibre links to APTN’s switching facility in Camden Lock allow connection to anywhere in the world via BT tower or APTN’s satellite uplinks. Likewise, the fibre links can also receive uncompressed HD streams from Camden from virtually any switching source in the world.
Audio - Analogue and embedded audio are used extensively in the facility and all audio sources are balanced and virtually all run via jackfields and krone to maximise flexibility.
Comms - Each technical area is provided with communication panels centralised in a Telex matrix. Open talkback between presenters, guests, directors, cameras, producers and technical staff is possible and the system can be programmed to suit the type of show.
